About Elite Dangerous Commander
Frontier Developments published Elite Dangerous Commander, a space-flight simulation video game. You can explore the galaxy’s 400 billion star systems. The game features planets and moons which rotate and orbit in real-time, creating dynamic day/night cycles. The game’s star system data is based on real-world astronomical data.
A few fictional planetary systems, such as those established in Frontier or First Encounters before significant numbers of exoplanets were discovered, are also carried over. A handful of fictional systems that were named in Elite are included. The original starting system Lave is used; the rest are procedurally generated using scientific models.
The player can dock with outposts and space stations to purchase spacecraft, trade goods, repair their ship, and complete missions using text-based “Mission boards.” You may find cargo and encounter other ships in flight if you investigate ‘Unidentified Signal Sources.
