Next Mass Effect Game Could Drop EA’s Graphics Engine

EA has posted a job listing that suggests that there may be a significant change in the next entry to this franchise. The new graphics engine will transition into familiar territory.
Since Mass Effect: Andromeda’s release in 2017, Mass Effect fans have been anxiously anticipating the next installment of the franchise’s adventures. Andromeda received mixed reviews from long-standing fans of the franchise. While the title was praised for its improved gameplay, it also suffered poor writing and technical difficulties. EA appears to be moving one area of its newest title in the direction that the franchise is used to, with a new Mass Effect.
EA has posted a job listing for Mass Effect titles. It seems that EA may be moving away from Frostbite, which is used in many EA titles. EA’s recruitment platform lists a Franchise Technical Director for the Mass Effect franchise. The listing includes “experience with UnrealEngine4+” in the Requirements section. This suggests that the space shooter might be interested in switching to the Unreal Engine.
