Top Gun: Maverick’s theatrical release has been delayed from Thanksgiving to Memorial Day weekend, May 27, 2022. This means that the Top Gun-themed extension for Microsoft Flight Simulator has been delayed. The announcement was made Friday on the game’s official website.

“Paramount Pictures has recently moved the release date for T Op Gun: Maverick to Memorial Day weekend in May 2022,” said developers from Asobo Studio, Xbox Game Studios. S and Xbox Game Pass will be released alongside the movie. We look forward to sharing more information in the future.

Jorg Neumann, Head of Microsoft Flight Simulator, hinted at a delay in August. He spoke with Polygon about the new content roadmap for his team. He said there was uncertainty around COVID-19 as well as the continuing surge in the delta variant. Some other content is not affected at the moment. This includes World Update 6, which contains enhancements for Germany and Austria. It will go live on Tuesday, Sept. 7.
