Danganronpa Creator Kazutaka Kodaka Working on New Project, Enigma Archives: Rain Code
Too Kyo Games announced their next project, Enigma Archives Rain Code. Spike Chunsoft, the publisher, announced the dark mystery game during their latest live stream to celebrate Danganronpa’s 10th anniversary.
According to Gematsu, Kazutaka Kodaka (Danganronpa’s creator) returns as scenario writer, accompanied by Masafumi Takada, a composer, and Rui Komatsuzaki, the character designer. Too Kyo Games was founded in 2017 by Zero Escape creator Kotaro Umikoshi. Their new adventure is still in its infancy. The English site and the Japanese site tease it like a dark fantasy mystery from the creative team. However, the early screenshots reveal a lot of what you would expect from the Danganronpa folks.
Although release dates and platforms have not been confirmed, Enigma Archives appears to be one of the four projects Too Kyo has announced for 2018. The games and anime works of the studio, Akuma drive and World’s End Club have been revealed. Enigma Archives, and another mystery title by Kodaka or Uchikoshi, will fill in the remaining spots. The 2018 concept art is very similar to the one viewers saw on live streaming.
This was all recorded during the Danganronpa 10th anniversary event: Ultimate Class Reunion online broadcast. However, you will need to wait until it is no longer behind a paywall to view it. This is all to prepare for the December 3 launch of the Danganronpa Decade. A Switch repackaging and addition of a bizarre microtransaction-ridden Ultimate Summer Camp. It’s quite crazy that I can pay $30 for a stream of clips from my $20 game, even though I can collect in-game currency .

However, I am still curious to see what the talented characters from my favourite murder mystery series can do after being free from the Danganronpa chains. Monokuma’s art and atmosphere look at least like an homage to some of my favourite titles, but it isn’t. Let the bear go.
