PlatinumGames President Reiterates Studio’s Commitment To Live Service Games

PlatinumGames created a new studio in Tokyo two years ago to concentrate on live-service gaming. Atsushi Inaba, PlatinumGames’ President and CEO, stated that the new Tokyo-based studio was being opened with the pretext of working on “live operations game development” and that the team would continue to work on […] projects long after release.

Inaba specifically mentioned the upcoming project G.G., a new game from the studio.

PlatinumGames Tokyo studio was established to create live-service games. However, the framing implied that the Osaka team would continue to work on games similar to the Bayonetta3. Inaba’s comments sound like a change in the underlying philosophy at PlatinumGames.
