Would we get a version of Injustice3? This would appear to be the case.

Each new Mortal Kombat 1, video gets us more excited about the launch of the game on 14th September. We’re now also getting insanely excited about the return of Injustice.

Ed Boon, NetherRealm Studio, revealed during an Interview for ComicBook at the Gamescom preview 2023 MK1 that they have plenty of ideas on where Injustice3 could go if it were to ever be released. The way I work, and I don’t know about everyone else, is that I have an idea file in my notepad on my computer. It’s always full of ideas like ‘Oh we could do this or we could make it’.” they said. When we were playing Injustice 2, I created an Injustice 3 file. You’ll always find a list of concepts and ideas – check this out, or that one. There is a document that does exist.”

NetherRealm is currently focused on Mortal Kombat 1. Boon’s comments on Injustice 3, are not new. He previously answered questions with a “not at any time” when asked if the Injustice series was dead. The update was promising, but there were no specific timetables. Boon’s love of the series has been expressed on a few occasions, but it’s not an official confirmation. The likelihood that this confirmation will happen is decreasing every day.

NetherRealm Studio is the only studio that can deliver Mortal Kombat in its visceral form. We want blood, gore and to make us wince. And we are determined to show anyone else who doubts our abilities what they’re missing. We want to kill everyone we can until we are victorious. We haven’t given this much thought. The horrific deaths we have seen in trailers are just the beginning. I am glad to say.

You might want to avoid MK1 if you don’t like extreme violence. Instead, you could relax by playing a more relaxing game such as the RPG Sea of Stars. Although there will be some fighting, it is not at all gruesome.

Mortal Kombat 1, will launch for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC on the 14th of September.
