Snake, sometimes known as Big Boss, emerges from a nine-year sleep nine years after the events of MGSV: GROUND ZEROES and the collapse of Mother Base. It is 1984. Nuclear weapons continue to build a worldwide problem against the backdrop of the Cold War. Motivated by retaliation, Snake forms a new private army and goes back to combat to find the shadow gang.
