Magic: The Gathering’s Final Fantasy Set Leaked Early with Starter Kit Cards
A leak from Magic: The Gathering’s upcoming Final Fantasy crossover set has surfaced online, revealing several cards from the Final Fantasy Starter Kit. The leak comes two months ahead of the official release on June 13, 2025.
The Starter Kit, which was shipped early due to a broken street date, features iconic Final Fantasy characters, with Cloud and Sephiroth as the main commanders. The leaked cards, printed in Spanish, show two ready-to-play 60-card decks, one led by Cloud in Red and White and the other by Sephiroth in Blue and Black. Notable characters in Cloud’s deck include Freya, Beatrix, and Steiner, while Sephiroth’s deck features Ultimecia and other familiar Final Fantasy villains.
The Starter Kit also references several Final Fantasy locations like Mount Ordeals (FF4) and the Royal City of Rabanastre (FF12), with legendary creatures and spells inspired by the franchise’s iconic moments. Cards such as Sabin’s Suplex of the Phantom Train are also included as spells.
While these early leaks provide a glimpse into the set, the full Magic: The Gathering Final Fantasy crossover will be officially launched in June 2025, with pre-orders for the Starter Kit now available for $20 on Amazon.
