The next major update for Six Days in Fallujah, titled Command and Control, is set to drop in early November for PC players. The game, which has been in Early Access for over a year, has faced multiple delays and significant controversy throughout its development, yet continues to push toward a full release.

Originally announced in 2009, Six Days in Fallujah has been the subject of intense criticism, with many arguing that turning such a sensitive conflict into a video game is in poor taste. Concerns have also been raised about the game being used as a recruitment tool for the U.S. military, though publisher Victura has denied any association with the U.S. government. They assert that the game is independently funded, with input from U.S. Marines, soldiers, and Iraqi civilians.

The upcoming Command and Control update will include new missions that take players to the start of the Second Battle of Fallujah, offering an immersive look at the conflict from 2004. Each mission will be accompanied by documentary-style videos featuring interviews with individuals who were on the front lines, providing players with historical context and insight into the controversy surrounding the game.

In addition to new missions, the Command and Control update introduces a Fireteam AI system, allowing players to command NPC squadmates. Co-op play will also be expanded, allowing players to team up with three others to complete missions. The update will include various technical enhancements to improve gameplay performance, and a trailer has been released showcasing some of these new features.

Command and Control will be available on November 7, free for all current owners of Six Days in Fallujah, which remains in Early Access on Steam. The game’s full release is planned for 2025, with versions for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S also in the works. Initially set for a 2010 release, the game has been delayed multiple times and even canceled at one point before switching developers and publishers. Despite calls for the game to be banned, development has continued, and Victura has since doubled its team size to ensure the game is delivered at the highest quality.
