EA teases ‘early look’ at Dead Space remake in Livestream
Electronic Arts and Motive Studio will offer Dead Space fans a “very early glimpse” of the games remaster on Tuesday. Those sneak peeks will be streamed on Motive’s Twitch channel on Aug. 31 at 1 p.m. EDT/10 a.m. PDT.
EA’s tweet referred to a “very early glance at the development”. It’s not clear how much we will see of the new Dead Space. EA and Motive did not promise gameplay or a trailer. EA has not yet announced a release window or a date for the new Dead Space.
Based on what little we have seen and how exciting the prospect for a new Dead Space looks, it’s worth tuning in, even if we get no concept art or high-level discussions about Motive’s design intentions for this remake.
EA and Motive announced their Dead Space remake in July, promising a built-from-the-ground-up game that’s faithful to the 2008 original while featuring all-new assets, new character models, and new environments.
Between 2008 and 2013, the Dead Space series featured three main games and two spinoffs. These were puzzle-action games Dead Space Ignition and rail shooter Dead Space Extraction. The 26th century was the setting for the main games. Isaac Clarke starred in them and battled Necromorphs, undead creatures that, unlike other zombie-like enemies, could be killed by cutting off their limbs.
Glen Schofield is one of the co-creators and creators of Dead Space. He is currently working with Striking Distance to create a spiritual successor called The Callisto Protocol. The Callisto Protocol, a sci-fi horror title set in the broader PUBG Battlegrounds universe is due to be released sometime in 2022.
