“Call of Duty: Vanguard” Has A Massive File Size on Xbox
Hang on. It appears that Call Of Duty – Vanguard will occupy an inordinate amount of storage on your Xbox. Activision didn’t say that this was not going to happen.
It did, surprise! Vanguard cited the power of “on demand texture streaming tech” to avoid the same problems as Modern Warfare or Black Ops Cold War. These games soaked up the console storage like red wine on white tablecloths. The extreme file sizes made it so that a 500GB PlayStation 4 might have not enough storage for these two games and Warzone was… funny.
This photo shows Vanguardinstalling to an Xbox Series X. Unfortunately, this streaming technology appears not to be active at the moment. Reddit user ceasesshoshowed the base game’s weight at 72.6GB. The console claims to have a Terabyte of storage. However, the operating system and other factors mean that the console actually has 802 GB of usable storage.
You might wonder, “What the fuss about?” You still have a lot of leftovers even if you subtract 72 GB from 802. This is not what we are focusing on. Players are acutely aware of the fact that the game will grow in size after a day one update and as more updates roll out to support vanguard with exciting post-launch content.
There might also be large games the player would like to play on their console such as NBA 2K21 or Microsoft Flight Simulator 2021.
According to reports, Vanguardon PlayStation 5 has a smaller size. This is in line with games such as Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart (42.19 GB), Return (55.56 GB), and Demon’s Souls (53.65 GB). The console’s Kraken compression technology, which Sony integrated into it, means that even though the PS5 has less storage than the Xbox Series X (55.56 GB), and em>Returnal (55.56 GB), games aren’t taking up too much of that available space.
