Kainga Strategy Book: Terrain, Thinkers, Karma and More

Kainga is a central theme of . It emphasizes adaptability and flexibility. It is essential to understand the terrain and use what is readily available and easily accessible in order to build a village. These are some tips to help players get the right mindset.

Take stock of your surroundings

Understanding geography and the layout of the land is key to success at Kainga. Once you have chosen a mission and launched into the game, the next step is to scan the map to see its features. These include chokepoints, concentrations of resources, distance from wildlife and distance to NPC villages. These factors will assist you in making an informed decision about where to put the village hearth, and laying the foundations for your village.

Move to a Good Place

Once you have loaded into a mission, there is no need or incentive to settle immediately in the spawn zone. Some biomes, such as the Terraces and the Pebbles may not offer much choice. However, the player should consider moving to a better location once they have reviewed the map’s features.

The game’s timer does not start until the player builds the village hearth. This means that you have all the time necessary to locate the best settlement site. You should also command your Braves so they can pick up and transport any resources that you may have spawned.

Clay and Reeds are key to the Flatlands

The most useful and common resources in the Flatlands are clay and reeds. Clay is an excellent material to shelter because of its resistance to fire and heavy winds, which are fairly common in the desert. Reeds can be used for food production as well as secondary shelter construction.

Although this tip is specific to a biome, it applies to all environments. It can be helpful in prioritizing technology or developing a build plan.

Claim Land Now

Players will see a large circle surrounding the campfire when they place their village hearth. This indicates that any resources contained in this indicator are available for village Braves to harvest.

Place a resource totem to expand the village’s resources reach. The activation button for this totem can be found next to the large hearth. These resource totems increase the area and potential locations where Braves can gather resources. It is not practical to place resource totems too far from the village hearth. This will cause travel time to increase.

Turn off Houses

Houses will be the first village structure that players will likely construct. These buildings increase the village’s capacity and produce new Braves. An idle villager must occupy an active house and consume one unit of food to be able to shelter a Brave.

This means that if a village grows in size, the demand on the work force to keep the houses active and produce new workers is high. There might be no workers left to perform other essential tasks. To free Braves up for other tasks, make sure you manually select and pause any houses you don’t want to be active.

Actively search for inspiration

Players will need to send their village thinker to a point marked by a glowing light on the map to gain new technology. These points are inspiration, and are randomly scattered around the map. Players will have more options to develop their village the more technology they can unlock.

Protect the Thinker

The Thinker is the only major loss in Kainga. NPC villages will often send Braves to harass the Thinker if they decide to attack the player’s village. This is especially true if the Thinker is far from home.

Flatheads in Flatlands can be dangerous for Thinkers because of the charge damage they cause to these creatures. This can lead to one-shot death. It’s important to give this vital villager a small to moderate escort, and to avoid aggressive wildlife.

Get Passive Tribe Upgrades

It is almost certain that the technology they create from their Thinker’s inspirations will not be needed by players. Researching sources of inspiration is still useful. Players can reject any tech options and opt for a passive update.

These upgrades can include giving villager rattan hats that will help them work in rain or inventing snail bridles which use snail acid to fertilize the ground. These passive upgrades are beneficial to the village in general and can often be more helpful than inventing an item or building.

Collect Loot

The land may offer more than just building material. Players may find small black boxes on the ground within a given mission.

These equipment boxes can be used to transform a villager into an entirely new type of unit such as a beastmaster or spearman, or another type of fighter. It can be prudent to gather equipment from a village that has many idle Braves to increase the tactical options and security of the settlement.
