Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl: What To Fish

Fishing is a mechanic that allows you to catch certain types of water-type Pokemon in Pokemon Bright Diamond and Shining Pearl.

You must first obtain the Old Rod to catch fish in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl.

A fisherman west of Jubilife, City gives you the Old Rod.

Talk to him in the small hut along Route 218. If you reply “yes,” he will give the Old Rod.

To use the Old Rod, go into your Bag and register it to your + button.

Next, approach body water and press + to select the Old Rod. At that point, you can cast your line.

Press A whenever an exclamation mark appears to lure fish in. Although you may not attract every Pokemon, you can expect to see plenty of Magikarp.
