Godfall Developers Believe That the upcoming Challenger Edition is Not a Trial.

Godfall has had a rough week. It was announced as a free PlayStation Plus game for December. The Epic Game Store will also be a freebie starting December 9th through 16th. The Challenger Edition is available on both platforms.

Many have criticized Counterplay’s pricing strategy for denying Godfall’s endgame content. The Challenger Edition costs $14.99. A “Deluxe Edition” adds $45.

A spokesperson for Counterplay denied the accusation when he spoke to Eurogamer. Eurogamer provided the following advice, although we don’t have the complete quote.

Today, Counterplay’s spokesperson told Eurogamer that the Challenger Edition is “not a trial”, but rather a limited-feature, new cut-price edition.

We’d be shocked if Godfall is branded as a “cut-price, limited-feature edition,” as some claim they won’t be able to redeem it on either platform. We will keep you updated with any further information as it becomes available.
