THE LONG DARK’S PERILOUS CONSTRAINT UPDATE ADDS A NEW BLACKROCK REGION MAP TO SURVIVAL MODE
The Long Dark’s Survival Mode has been made more accessible by the Perilous Contraint free upgrade. The Blackrock Region map was added, increasing its size to only 55 km2.
The fourth episode featured the Long Dark’s Blackrock map. The region can be connected to Pleasant Valley through a new transition zone and Timberwolf Mountain via a cave system in survival mode.
The Blackrock Region, like its counterparts, has its points of interest and places to explore. Although it has been destroyed, the Blackrock Penitentiary can still be accessed. It houses quite a few resources within its prison block and the surrounding areas.
You’ll find a substation and a power plant as you travel through The Long Dark’s Blackrock. There are also new shelters. There will be a lot of Timberwolf patrols. This is why you’ll need to find the two new items in the Perilous Constraint Update.
The Ballistic Vest is the first protective gear in the game and provides more excellent protection against physical injury. While it will make you less likely to be attacked by bears, wolves, or Moses, it can slow down your movement and cause some discomfort.
The Noisemaker is an explosive device used to repel Timberwolves. Although the noise it makes temporarily scares off attackers, you should not keep it lit for too long.
The ammunition bench is the only place where you can craft the device. One of these can be found at Blackrock Penitentiary’s workshop. This makes the new map an area you will want to visit sooner or later.
The Long Dark’s Perilous Constraint update, Blackrock Region map, and other details can be found in the video. Also, learn more about Hinterland’s plans for December 2021’s development diary.
