STARGATE – TIMEKEEPERS GAMES PLAY REVEALED DURING THE HOME OF WARGAMERS 2021 LIVE+WINTER EDITION
Stargate was one of the featured games at the Slitherine’s Home of Wargamers 2021 Winter Edition event. This event gave us our first glimpse of gameplay for the new real-time tactical game.
This mission featured a small group of two specialists who navigated an area populated with enemies by using stealth and their own unique skills. You won’t be able to take on foes face-to-face, so you will need to be alert to their lines of sight and use bushes to conceal you.
Stargate: Timekeepers’ first gameplay video featured an approach that used abilities to distract enemies, before moving in quickly, taking them down and tying them up, then disposing them.
One specialist later interacted with a crane’s controls to quickly remove an unlucky enemy. The video did not contain sound and was lacking “final polishing,” according the publisher.
The game seems to be inspired by Commandos, Shadow Tactics and Blades of the Shogun, based on the little gameplay we were able to see.
Stargate: Timekeepers was developed by Creative Forge Games and tells its own story.
It unfolds over 14 narrative-rich mission. It all starts during the Battle of Antarctica. Commander Eva McCain and her forces support the SG-1 as it fights Anubis’ fleet.
This title also focuses upon helping the Jaffa Resistance and allying with Unas. It also aims to defeat Goa’uld system lord Dolus. According to the publisher, there are multiple possible outcomes for the campaign title. “
Eva McCain is an expert in hand-to-hand combat, and automatic rifles. Max Bolton adds agility expert sniper skills, as well as being able climb “difficult surface” to find a vantage point.
Sam Watson’s knowledge on alien gadgetry is complementary to Derreck Harper’s drones that can heal allies or deactivate hostile electronic equipment.
You’ll meet A’ta (a Jaffa rebel and thief) along with Xugga (“a powerful but good-natured Unas veteran”). “
Stargate: Timekeepers success is dependent on the ability to use these characters’ full potential. The Tactical Mode allows you to perfectly synchronize your actions.
Stargate: Timekeepers will be available on PC by 2022.
