WORLD WAR II – TURN-BASED WARGAME HQ WORLD WAR II – LETS YOU EXPERIENCE NORMANDY’S BATTLE FROM BOTH SIDES
Star Games and publisher Slitherine have revealed turn-based wargame Headquarters World War II at today’s Home of Wargamers Live+ Winter Edition.
The game’s title refers to the fact that it takes players back in time and allows them to explore the Battle of Normandy with both sides. It has three campaigns and nine missions. Each campaign features nine missions that allow the player to follow the US, UK, or German forces following the D-Day landings.
Headquarters World War II was created using Unreal Engine 4. It aims to create a realistic visual style that complements its simple learn, but is challenging to master gameplay.
You’ll need to pay attention to multiple tactical and strategic aspects as you attack bunkers, occupy homes, and ambush enemy armor. The difference between a functional tank or a husk that can only be used for the cover is how well your vehicle positioning works.
A driver’s death can result in mobility being lost, and a dead gunner may see vehicles firing less frequently. Infantry can cover themselves with fences, walls and other obstacles. However, different terrain types have an impact on both combat effectiveness as well as a line of sight.
You can also upgrade troops or assign heroes between battles. A skirmish mode is also available at Headquarters World War II. It allows up to four players to test their skills against one another on six maps. You can also fill these slots with AI-controlled armies if PvP is not your thing.
A new editor tool will also allow players to create maps and share them with their community. The launch of Headquarters World War II on PC and console is planned for 2022.
