Fortnite’s Skeleton is back by KAWS in the first-ever virtual gallery
The new Creative hub is a recreation of the KAWS exhibit that opened at London’s Serpentine Gallery on January 18, 2022.
American artist KAWS is known for his instantly recognisable “Companions”, which appear in various forms across his artwork and gained global recognition when the KAWS Skeleton companion was released as a Fortnite skin as part of Fortnitemares in October 2021. Today, January 18 2022, the 47-year-old American opens his latest exhibition in London. It is a first for the art world and combines AR displays with a virtual recreation of Fortnite.
What is the KAWS x Serpentine Fortnite Creative Hub?
Fortnite’s creative hub was created to recreate the KAWS exhibition at London’s Serpentine Gallery. The exhibition will be held simultaneously, but art lovers worldwide can view it thanks to BeyondCreative and Alliance Studios virtual recreations, which were created in collaboration with KAWS, and The Serpentine.
You can explore the new hub design and take in the Companion exhibits on the Serpentine grounds. However, you can also walk through the gallery’s halls to see virtual replicas.
Fortnite KAWS Skeleton has returned to the in-game shop
The wildly popular Fortnite skin by KAWS is back with the release of the KAWS & Serpentine hub. It will be available for purchase in the in-game store on January 18 2022. You should grab it quickly, as we don’t know when or if it will return.
Acute Art presents KAWS – NEW FICTION at The Serpentine.
Visitors can visit the KAWS exhibition at the Serpentine Gallery, West London. This is not your ordinary art exhibition. You can not only explore the gallery’s real-life exhibits as you walk around it, but you can also use the Acute App on your smartphone to view even larger-than-life Augmented Reality companions. Only the Serpentine can experience the AR gallery.
