After an exciting Pokemon Presents, game Freak sent a mystery gift for Pokemon BDSP users. This guide will show you how to complete the Oak’s mystery letter in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. The mystery gift ends with the opportunity to catch the legendary Pokemon Shaymin.
BEFORE YOU START
Before you start, defeat the Pokemon League Champion to get this mystery gift.
Along the route to Professor Oak’s waiting spot, trainers will fight. They can take powerful Pokemon with them, as their Pokemon range from levels 50-to 60.
Shaymin can spawn at level 30, so plan accordingly. It’s a good idea to use a stronger Pokemon who knows False Swipe. This move leaves at least 1 HP, so make sure you bring a Pokemon at least 50 who knows False swipe to use against Shaymin. It is available on the Veilstone Department Store’s third floor. Here is a list listing all Pokemon who can learn False Swipe.
You should always have enough Poke Balls. Although it shouldn’t take too many attempts to catch Shaymin, you should have enough to last you a while. Max Repels are also recommended if you don’t want to meet wild Pokemon.
Shaymin cannot be shinily locked. It is possible to soft reset Shaymin until it spawns as a shiny sprite.
REACHING PROFESSOR OAK
Oak’s letter can be found in the critical items section. It will tell the player that Professor Oak would like to meet them on Route 224. Victory Road leads to this location. Enter Victory Road by heading south from the Sinnoh Pokémon League building. Continue south, and then use Rock Climb for descaling. At the fork, turn left. Turn left at the subsequent division. Then immediately, go south up the steps just behind the grey-haired trainer. Continue on this path to the right until you reach the cave entrance.
Continue on this path until you reach a room filled with white fog. Then, use defog. Continue north, using strength to push the boulder out of your way. Continue on north until you reach a row of three boulders. Each boulder can be moved to the right or left, but not up as it will block the path. Continue north, past two purple-robed trainers. Turn right. Continue straight past two sets of trainers until you reach the stairs. Turn right and go down the stairs. Surf on the water over another pair of trainers in purple to get a second set of stairs. Continue down the stairs to reach the cave exit. Continue on this path until you reach Route 224.
Continue north and then go straight past a grey-haired trainer. Continue directly and then turn north at the end of the beach. Continue to the left at the fork. Continue north until you reach Professor Oak, standing at a stone tablet.
Talk to him, and he’ll ask you to tell him about someone to whom you feel tremendous gratitude. Just type in anything. The Seabreak Path will appear to your right. Shaymin will be walking down the path, and then it will return north. Continue north along the Seabreak Path. It is a long hike, so bring your bike. Shaymin will be there waiting for you at the end.
To shine, hunt Shaymin, turn off autosave, and save. Then activate Shaymin to see if Shaymin is shiny. If it is, soft reset it if not. To catch Shaymin, shiny and not, anyone can start Shaymin. A Pokemon at level 50 can use False Swipe to give Shaymin 1 HP. Once its HP is low enough, throw Poke Balls until the Pokemon is caught.
This is how to make the Oak’s Letter mystery present in Pokemon Bright Diamond or Shining Pearl. Fans have been transported back in time by this retort of the mystery gift from Pokemon Platinum. The mystery gift from the Member’s Card may be the next. Fans haven’t had the opportunity to catch Darkrai in a while.
