Blood Bond: Into the Shroud takes an unconventional approach to RPGs. There is no handholding, few forced battles, or strict paths laid out for you to follow; your exploration across Jordenheim will be rewarded in equal measure as discoveries made along the way are rewarded accordingly.
Inspired heavily by Norse myths and legends – Jordenheim itself was formed due to this game’s creation – our aim as developers were to give you an old-school RPG experience with modern graphics built upon Unreal Engine 4.
Play as Astrid, an outcast Viking witch raised by her single mother but abandoned by both parents as soon as a hunt is finished and finds herself with both village destroyed and her mother missing; uncertain of herself she goes in search of Birger (father). Thus begins Blood Bond: Into the Shroud’s journey of self-discovery that allows Astrid to discover both her Viking inner power as well as the truth surrounding everything around her.
Exploration & Discovery in GAMEPLAY: Dive deep into exploring your environment! Earn experience points for any activity from gathering medicinal plants for treatment to discovering hidden locations.
Talents: Pray to the Gods for blessing, knowing they hold all power to determine your fate and to bestow it. Gain talents through quests, gifts from them, or discovery on your journeys through exploration.
Combat: Before choosing any battle or maneuvering in stealth mode, always keep one’s distance and be wary when using weapons like an ax, bow, or spells as there is no autotargeting or easy mode combat system available to them.
Status Effects: Use buffs, debuffs, and states to support your journey. Don’t discredit status effects just yet as it might prove helpful at one moment yet counterproductive later on!
Crafting: Create valuable items to aid you on your journey and guarantee success. Crafting is essential as not all talents, traits, and abilities may become available on this journey – we welcome you into Jordenheim and Astrid of Guilon’s story!
