Starsector’s world is very detailed. In cycle 206 (3126), the action takes place on the arm of Perseus. This is one of four arms that make up the Milky Way. This is just one sector that has been affected by the resource wars caused by the cut-off from space.
Humanity ruled over a vast part of the Milky Way in the past. A council based on the “Old Earth” governed the entire empire called the domain of mankind.
It controlled a large area divided up into sectors. Movement between these was made possible by special gates. All the communication channels to the human realm were cut one day. Insufficient food and the lack of communication with the other planets of the empire led to the war.
This is what the player sees. The player takes command of his spaceship and begins to travel through the Perseus’ Arm space sector. He can join several different groups during his journey: Hegemony is a group that claims to be the spiritual descendant of the Human Domain and tri-Tachyon Corporation.
Starsector is a space simulation with procedurally-generated worlds that give you almost limitless freedom to explore. In the game, the player can choose from a variety of ships, such as fighter jets, cruisers, and frigates.
The ships have their own special properties which influence how the game is played. Ships can also be modified up to the limits of their design. It was a very thorough inspection, which included many components. You can disable the transponders in order to escape detection or you could activate the crankshaft engine to expose yourself to space pirates.
