After a massive leak of the source code, it seems that a fan remake of Far Cry1 will be developed.

Metro reported that in June, an Internet Archive download of the 2004 FPS engine CryEngine 1.34 appeared at random. was highlighted by modder, Vinicius Medieiros on Twitter. Fans have discussed the possibility of ports, mods, etc. that can be created using this engine.

A supposed anonymous insider claimed that Ubisoft is working on the next Far Cry game. The game, reportedly titled Far Cry Rise will take place in a tropical island in the Yellow Sea called Kimsan that has been overthrown by North Korean rebels. The game will feature a female or male Korean idol fighting for survival and protecting their younger sibling.

Far Cry’s fans have expressed their displeasure at the leaked information about Far Cry Rise. However, we still don’t have any official confirmation from Ubisoft that this game exists.
