Ubisoft deletes accounts permanently and game libraries
Why is Ubisoft deactivating the accounts of users? Inactivity is the reason for account deletion. According to a Tweet shared by the Twitter Account AntiDRM Ubisoft suspends or deletes accounts if they haven’t been accessed for a period of time.
In a tweet, an email was shared that read: “We have noticed that you are not using the Ubisoft Account associated with [your Email Address].”
It continued, “We’ve temporarily suspended your Ubisoft inactive account. We will close it permanently within 30 days in compliance with our Terms and Conditions.” If you want to cancel the closure of your Ubisoft Account, click on Cancel below.
As stated in the Tweet, the user has 30 days from the time they receive the email containing the warning to terminate the account to reply in order to maintain the account’s status. As many people know, email can easily be missed, or spammed, and not read. It seems unfair to delete games or DLC that you have paid for, even when an account is not logged in for a long time. There are many reasons why someone may not have logged into their account.
Ubisoft Support responded to the Twitter tweet explaining that account termination was a threat. It replied, “Hi there.” We just wanted to let you know that you could avoid account closure if, within the next 30 days, you logged into your account and clicked the Cancel Account Closure button in the email.
We don’t want you to be unable to access your account or games, so please contact us if you are having any problems logging in.
