The maximum level you can reach in the full game is BALDUR’S GATE LEVEL CAPITAL
Baldur’s Gate III Level Cap is a big factor in the playthroughs we do. The maximum level our characters will reach the full launch of the cRPG determines what spells and abilities they can use.
Baldur’s Gate 3 was launched with a level cap that was lower than the full release. The lower level cap made sense because the Early Access version only had one of three acts planned for full release.
Baldur’s Gate Level Cap
Baldur’s Gate 3 Early Access level cap allowed characters to reach level 5 in the end. It was possible to reach the maximum level before completing the 25-hour first act.
In a Reddit, Larian Studios stated that the game’s full version would have a character level maximum of 10.
Nick Pechenin, the lead system designer for Baldur’s Gate 3, revealed in a subsequent interview with Rock Paper Shotgun that the cap on levels was not yet finalized.

In late June 2023, Community Update confirmed that our characters could reach a maximum of 12 levels when Baldur’s Gate 3 is fully launched.
The third installment in the series, while a faithful adaption of Dungeons and Dragon’s fifth edition is available to us up until level 20, it does not allow for the full 20th level.
It’s likely that the strongest spells in the pen-and-paper version will be lost.
However, level 12 will allow you to create a character that is strong and diverse while also allowing for a wide variety of classes.
