Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 launches with 16 maps from MW2 2009
It’s no surprise that Activision will be releasing another Call of Duty game this year.
Since 2003, a new Call of Duty has been released. Only Call of Duty and Call of Duty II were exceptions to this rule between 2003-2005.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare III is the final installment of the reboot trilogies that started in 2019. The series has been accused of becoming stale over the years. Whether you are a Call of Duty fan or not, each game offers an incredible amount of value for money.
The game has a robust single-player mode, robust multiplayer modes, and the new addition this year of Zombies. There is also the free-to-play battle royale Warzone, which gets seasonal updates.
It has been reported in recent months that the multiplayer mode for Call of Duty Modern Warfare III would feature the remastered maps of Modern Warfare 2 2009. MWIIIwill include remastered versions of the maps in MW2(2009). This was announced alongside this week’s gameplay trailer for the single-player campaign.
, Activision’s Daniel Noel, writes on the PlayStation blog that Modern Warfare III features “one of greatest collections of multiplayer maps ever assembled”. Not only features 16 remastered Modern Warfare II maps but will also include a number of brand-new maps.
Remastered maps from MW2(2009) are available at launch. They have not only been updated visually, but they also benefit from some new features. In addition, twelve new 6v6 maps will be released in the post-launch season. Activision teased the release of a 3v3v3 game mode, which will use all maps in this year’s release.
Remastered maps of Modern Warfare II(2009) will be included in Modern Warfare III at the launch. These include Afghan, Derailment, Estate, Favelas, Highrises, Invasions, Karachis, Quarries, Rundowns, Rusts, Scrapyards, Skidrows, Sub Bases, Terminals, Underpasses, and Wasteland.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare III is coming to PC, PlayStation, and Xbox in November 2023.
