The new God of War job confirmed
Santa Monica Studios has posted a new job listing revealing that they are working on yet another God of War game. The description also suggests this is another God Of War title.
Spoilers for God Of War Ragnarok’s ending
The last time we saw the God Of War Kratos and his son Atreus they had defeated the Norse Allfather Odin and brought peace to the Nine Realms. Atreus left to explore the Giants on his own, while Kratos returned to Midgard to continue bringing hope and inspiration to all those who need it.
The God of War finale ended the Norse adventures, but it left room for a sequel. Although many speculated that the God of War series would be split into Kratos’ adventures and Atreus’ adventures, nothing is confirmed yet.
A new job posting for Santa Monica Studios was published recently on the careers page. It asked for a full-time/regular combat designer.
When you read the requirements, God of War is mentioned.
Job description: Must have knowledge of God Of War Ragnarok 2022 and God Of War Ragnarok (2018), as well as be able to speak with depth on the combat system, mechanics, and enemy.
It’s natural to assume that it is a God Of War sequel, even though there’s no concrete proof. Why would you want to learn about previous combat systems when you are making something completely different?
Santa Monica Studios had not confirmed any details at the time this article was written, so we are unlikely to hear anything more about the project until next year.
Fans will want to know where God Of War will take the story next. Several cultures and mythologies, such as Egyptian and Japanese, have already been hinted at in the universe of the game.
We’ll have to cross our fingers that it’s a God Of War sequel, but a brand-new IP would be fine too.
