Need for Speed: World (previously called Need for Speed: World Online) was the fifteenth installment of the video racing game Need for Speed franchise published by Electronic Arts. World was a recreation of the style of gameplay featured in the 2005’s Most Wanted and 2006’s Carbon with a focus on street racing, tunes and police chases.
The game also included certain elements of the game like “power ups” (somewhat similar to Mario Kart). World was located in a fictional town where both the towns of Rockport in Most Wanted and Palmont from Carbon in its map layout which was updated with new graphics as well as new areas included on the map connecting both cities.
The game had more than 100 licensed vehicles, including tuning machines, muscle cars exotics, race car, exotics and SUVs. Manufacturing varied from Alfa Romeo to Volkswagen and more than thirty manufacturers were involved included in the game.
