Tekken 4 was released in 2001 as the fourth installment in the Tekken video series. It is developed by Namco. Tekken 4 brought about significant changes to the gameplay compared with the other games of the series. It was the first game to allow players to interact with obstacles and walls in an arena for additional damage.
The “environmental hazards”, in turn, allowed players to perform consecutive combos by juggling opponents. Designers also implemented a switch maneuver that allowed them to escape cornering. Game engine was tweaked so that it focused more on the environment.
This caused the characters to move slower and more fluidly than they did in Tekken Tag Tournament. The game also introduced a new graphics system that included increased lighting, dynamic dynamics, and smoother surface.
