WWE 2K15 is a professional wrestling video game that was developed as an alliance between Yuke’s and Visual Concepts, and published by 2K Sports for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows.
WWE 2K15 marks the dawn of an “new generation”, which is focused on transforming the franchise into a genuine wrestling game and not “a fighting game with WWE Superstars in it.” A new mini-game of chain wrestling is now available (exclusive to consoles with the latest generation and PCs only) so that matches can appear more authentically. By pressing the grapple button during the start of a fight will trigger an elbow-and-collar tie-up.
When the match begins, tie-up, both players presses one of the three face buttons in order to lock their opponent inside the side headlock, wrist lock, or waist lock, with a rock paper scissors kind of final. (Headlock beats Wrist lock, Wrist lock beats Waist lock, Waist lock beats Headlock.) The winner will put their opponent into the appropriate position, and each player rotates the left analog stick (space + the movement keys on a PC) in search of the “sweet spot”. If the attacking player discovers it first and then they’ll execute a move and if the opponent discovers it first then they’ll get the advantage.
In addition, the wrestler who is attacking may strike or slash the opponent’s limb, which makes it difficult to pinpoint the perfect place. The game is only played a couple of times throughout the game and is able to be disabled through the menu options. Strikes have been restored to regular speed with better collision and animations that sell against the opposition. In contrast to previous matches the superstars won’t stand on their feet immediately after taking an impact or hitting. Sometimes, they will remain down for a few seconds, based on their strength.
