Spore is a life simulation sandbox that is a single player game created by Maxis and created by Will Wright, released for Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X. Spore allows the player to create a new species that starts as a tiny organism and its development to a more complex animal it’s rise to become an intelligent, social being and its total control over the world, before moving on towards its ascend into space through which it encounters alien species throughout the galaxy.
Through the course of the game, the players’ perspective and the species of their choice change significantly. The game is divided in distinct “stages”. The result of one stage determines the conditions for the first as well as the leveling of the player on the next. Every phase has its own game style, and is stated by the creators as 10 times more difficult than the previous phase.
