Battlestate Games is currently developing Escape from Tarkov, a first-person tactical shooter game. Game is set in fictional Norvinsk, located in Northwestern Russia. The region used to be a special economic zone that promoted trade between Russia, Europe and the Middle East. This attracted companies with dubious motives and led to a scandalous political situation involving the Norvinsk area. Tarkov became the center of the scandal.
Six months after the initial incident, the conflict escalated to include the Russian Internal Troops (RIT), United Nations Peacekeepers and two private military firms: United Security BEAR and United Security USEC). Norvinsk’s borders were closed, isolating those trapped in the conflict zone from the rest of the world. USEC, a corrupt corporation implicated in this scandal, hired USEC to hinder investigations during the war. BEAR, on the other hand was hired by the Russian Government in order to gather evidence about Terra Group’s activities.
