A significant leak has surfaced, hinting at a new multiplayer-focused Pokémon game in development. This “Teraleak” involves Game Freak, the studio behind many mainline Pokémon titles, including Sword and Shield and Scarlet and Violet. It’s already being called one of the largest leaks in Pokémon history.

The leaked information suggests that Game Freak is collaborating with ILCA, the studio known for Pokémon Home and Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, on an exciting new project. Initially rumored to be codenamed “Synapse” and speculated as an MMO, the game has since been clarified not to be an MMO, though its gameplay may resemble Splatoon in some ways.

Additionally, the leak includes details about Generation 10 of the Pokémon series, rumored to be called “Gaia” and in development for both the Switch 1 and the anticipated Switch 2. Several beta Pokémon designs, official map editors, and game proposals have also been shared.

This leak follows a recent hacking incident at Game Freak in August 2024, which exposed personal information of over 2,000 employees. The company has since issued a notice and apology, but has not commented on the leaked game data.

As the Pokémon community continues to analyze the leaks, anticipation grows for official news from Game Freak and The Pokémon Company.
