John Romero created the computer game Dangerous Dave in 1988. It was created as an example game for the Apple II and MS-DOS to go along with his article for the UpTime disc magazine on his GraBASIC, an Applesoft BASIC add-on.
The secret levels, the level design, the enemies, and the jumping are some of the similarities between the two games.
Romero claimed to have been “on purpose aiming to produce a Mario game.”[1] The objective is to lead Dave through ten stages while he gathers trophies in Clyde’s lair. Romero claims that Dangerous Dave in the Haunted Mansion is “the best Dave ever made” out of all the Dangerous Dave sequels.
