Yuke’s created the professional wrestling video game WWE SmackDown! Here Comes the Pain (called Exciting Pro Wrestling 5 in Japan), which was released on October 27, 2003, by THQ for the PlayStation 2 in North America. It is the follow-up to WWE SmackDown! Shut Your Mouth, the fifth and final game in the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE)-based WWE SmackDown! series.
Reviews for Here Comes the Pain were favorable.[1] In 2004, WWE SmackDown! vs. Raw would replace the game.
The games maintained the series’ quick action while introducing a more complex and detailed grappling system.
