Fake Baldur’s Gate 3 Mobile Port Discovered on iOS App Store
A fake mobile port of Baldur’s Gate 3 has appeared on the iOS App Store, attempting to deceive players into downloading a scam. The app, listed as “Baldurs Gate 3 – Mobile Turuk,” claims to be a mobile version of the popular RPG, but it is not affiliated with the official game or its developer, Larian Studios.
The listing includes modified screenshots from Baldur’s Gate 3, but closer inspection reveals several red flags. The app fails to mention the game’s Dungeons & Dragons roots or the developer, and the title is misspelled. The developer is listed as “Dmytro Turuk,” rather than Larian Studios.
Though free to download, the app requires a $29.99 subscription for playtime. Upon opening the app, users are prompted to subscribe to continue, revealing it as a scam. Additionally, the app’s terms of service mention collecting sensitive information, such as the user’s IP address.
Currently, the app is not available on the Android store, but iOS users should remain cautious. Larian Studios has no plans to release a mobile port of Baldur’s Gate 3. Players interested in the series can try earlier entries, including Baldur’s Gate and Baldur’s Gate 2, or stream Baldur’s Gate 3 via Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
If you’ve downloaded the fake app, it’s recommended to uninstall it immediately.
