The game is scheduled to release in 2022, and there are no plans for other launch platforms. It has two halves that showcase the game’s main features and story.
Cult of the Lamb’s trailer begins with an animated movie cinematic showing the origin of the Lamb. The trailer begins darkly enough. The Lamb is the latest in a series of sacrifices that will end with a chained entity giving them power. The Lamb soon escapes, rescues other prisoners, and takes out their would be executioners. The freed captives begin to worship the Lamb, and the character begins their own cult.
The trailer’s second half shows gameplay that demonstrates the main features of Cult of the Lamb. The visuals look a lot like The Binding of Isaac. The trailer shows how the characters gather followers and build a community. They even host sermons. Players will have the opportunity to interact with their flock through singing, building homes, and chopping down trees. They can also receive a reward for their prayers.
As the character explores five different regions in a randomly generated world, the combat combines sword fighting with unleashing the Lamb’s dark powers. There will be different types of monsters in each location, giving you many chances to test the Lamb’s dark abilities.
The new gameplay trailer shows that the Lamb will face false prophets within their cult and can rescue potential sacrifices from other cultists to add to the flock. One scene shows the Lamb confronting a rival leader of cult who transforms into an evil monster with new powers. To gain similar powers, players can sacrifice their own members of the cult in dark rituals.
