Today’s official trailer for season 2 of Netflix’s The Witcher was released. Seriously, you could easily cut the tension with an actual silver sword.

After their separate journeys across Continent, it has been two years since Geralt & Ciri finally met. Yennefer used her full abilities to stop the Nilfgaardian army from taking control of Sodden Hill. However, she disappeared after the dust settled.

We had seen glimpses of what the characters would be doing in season 2, but this trailer showcases the darkly beautiful world, and the stakes involved in their fates. Good and evil will clash. Have a look!

Geralt and Nivellen are seen chatting about the end of the day at a fireplace. Kristofer Hivju, Game of Thrones is actually the character playing the monstrous role. Ciri appears reluctant to train with a sword at Kaer Morhen. However, another scene shows her standing tall and looking very much like the videogame version.

Yennefer and Fringilla have a heated encounter at the fireside. This is despite the fact that Fringilla was assisting in the Battle on Sodden Hill. Fringilla might be convinced that she is on the wrong side or cause a bigger wedge between herself and her former allies by this betrayal.

The second season will introduce us to Vesemir, Geralt’s mentor. Kim Bodnia plays him, whom you will likely recognize as Constantin in Dead Eve. Henry Cavill spoke to Entertainment Weekly, “Kim and me were discussing the emotion of these characters, but Kim brings some powerful emotion [the role] and an actual sense of soul and heart connection to the wilds and connection to nature.” It’s stunning to see and it’s wonderful to be part of. Kim was a part of some of my most favorite scenes. Kim brings something special to the character and I think people will really enjoy it.”
