FFXIV Patch 6.1.1 Coming in April, Details on Quests and Hrothgar Hair Raids and More
Ah, another Final Fantasy XIV Letter packed with juicy, new information! While this stream was primarily focused on the future of HTMLXIV, we also learned more about Patch 6.1, the next major update. A separate Live Letter is planned for March 4 and Naoki Yoshida, director, and producer, said that it will be live sometime in April. Here are some things we can expect.
As expected, we’ll get new main scenario quests to start the new era FFXIV with patch 6.1. While not much was mentioned about MSQ, we are getting some fun sidequests. A new sidequest series, “Tataru’s Grand Endeavor,” will be available. It will receive updates throughout the 6. x patch cycle.
Hildibrand Manderville will return, baby! Patch6.1 will continue the story of the inspector extraordinaire with the new questline “Somehow Further Hildibrand Activities.” This questline will also be updated in subsequent 6. x patches. We haven’t seen Nashua Mhakaracca in a while. Hildibrand quests, which are a great way to get back to the doofus and his trusted Miqo’te sidekick, are highly recommended.
The 24-player Alliance Raid series, Myths in the Realm, begins with its first leg in Patch 6.1, revealed during the preparations for Endwalker. This questline and raid series will examine the mythology of FFXIV’s twelve gods. This update also includes the new Unreal trial Ultima’s Bane. The next Ultimate duty, Dragonsong’s Reprise will be available shortly after Patch 6.11. Yoshida-san stated, “It’s quite difficult.”
Along with new dailies, the Arkasodara Tribe Quests will be added. Yoshida-san mentioned moving away from calling them “beast tribals,” citing the negative connotation. The FFXIV team will find a better way of expressing these words in the future.
You can now look forward to the new crystalline conflict mode in Patch 6. This was demonstrated in detail in a Live Letter sent before Endwalker launched. This mode is a smaller-scale 5v5 format with shorter matches and lower stakes to encourage more players.
The Live Letter was primarily about redesigning older content, including dungeons retrofitted with Trust systems. You can now take AI party members to A Realm reborn’s 2.0 MSQ Dungeons. The Cape Westwind trial will become a solo mission, while Castrum Meridianum and The Praetorium will be rebuilt as four-player instances. Lahabrea’s fight will become a sole mission. For such devastation, please help one another. This expansion of the Trust system will continue through the 6. x patch cycle.
Implementing the new “calling cards” style UI customization features is another crucial detail. It was previously mentioned in a Live Letter as a PvP feature and will be shown in the upcoming Live Letters. My beefy Lion boys need to get up. The Hrothgar have new hairstyles for Patch 6.1. They haven’t been revealed yet, unfortunately.
If you can’t get enough Ameliance (Alisaie’s mom and Alphinaud), Endwalker will receive new custom deliveries in Patch 6.1. You can also expect updates to glamour plates and the Ishgardian Housing District (Empyreum), which will finally open up. The Data Center travel will also be available when the 6.18 update hits.
Regarding new housing in Empyreum, FFXIV will feature a new lottery system in addition to the first-come-first-served system. This applies to individual and free company housing. We have previously discussed how the new purchasing system for Ishgardian Housing works.
