CHILD OF LIGHT “CROSSOVER GAMES” IN THE WORKS COULD BE REVEALED IN THE NEXT YEAR
2D RPG Child of Light fans who long for a new entry in the series will be happy to hear that Patrick Plourde, Creative Director, has confirmed the creation of a new game.
Plourde called the title “Aurora Igniculus’ next great adventure” but noted that it would not be Child of Light 2. The project will involve, apparently, a different developer.
“No, this is real. However, it’s not CoL 2. We are not the developers,” Plourde said on Twitter. “A crossover game will follow the story of Aurora’s journey after she crosses (sic!) The Mirror at the end. It’s super fun, unexpected, and made by devs who also love the IP. “
Plourde followed up with a tweet clarifying that Child of Light 2 had been written but was not greenlit.
Although news of a sequel is likely to disappoint some, Child of Light’s return will be enough for many who loved the original after seven years.
We will learn more about this “crossover title” “early next year.” If you don’t want to wait or haven’t yet played the original, the Steam Fall Sale 2021 will bring it down by 70%, dropping its price to PS3.74$4.49/4.99EUR.
Our review praised 2014’s game because of its “gorgeous scenery, character, and enemy designs.” This, along with its heartfelt story, made it worth pushing through the repetitive moments.
You can find something that appeals to you if you have already traveled with Aurora and Igniculus or are looking for something different from the AAA releases that flood the last months of each year.
