WHAT HAPPENED TO MINECRAFT XBOX SERIES X-Ray TRACING?

A technical demo version Minecraft of was tested on an Xbox Series X equipped with ray tracing. This feature is available in the P.C. version, provided you have an RTX-capable graphics card. Since then, however, there has been no further information or hinting at it. I find it curious to wonder what happened with ray tracing Minecraft on the Xbox Series X.

The Xbox Series X can now ray trace. This feature was added to Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition and Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War. So why is Minecraft so slow with this feature? This game is a game made up of blocks. The game has deficient graphics standards, but people have been making shader packs for it for as long as my memory can recall. Many players are becoming impatient, and there is no easy answer.

SUPER-DUPER GRAPHICS PACK

Mojang revealed the “Super Duper Graphics Pack” at E3 2017. They had initially planned to release it in the autumn of 2017. The game would get 4K graphics, which closely resembled shaders. The developers delayed the release for a long time until finally posting a final update stating that they had abandoned the project.

Many Xbox One X players were disappointed by this. Many people claimed that the One X was purchased to play Minecraft in a different light. It never happened. I believe this is why Mojang has remained silent about the matter until they can confirm it will be in the Series X. They don’t want to repeat the mistakes they made last year. They excited a feature that never made it to the game. It was so ineffective that it was eventually canceled. This may be why the topic has not even been mentioned.

RAY TRACING & R.T.X.

Ray tracing was first announced for Minecraft in August 2019 using R.T.X. technology. In April 2020, it was announced that ray tracing would be available for the Windows 10 version. However, consoles were not mentioned. Console players were again left in the dark about when it would be coming to Series X, even though the presentation had been shown a month earlier than expected.

The F.A.Q. for ray tracing/R.T.X. only mentioned consoles once. And it wasn’t about these graphical enhancements. Interestingly, no mention has been made of ray tracing being available for the Xbox Series X. This is based on the technical demo we saw last year. It’s not fair to show off something that won’t be released.

WILL IT EVER BE PUBLISHED?

Here’s the big question. Is it possible to see ray tracing Minecraft on Xbox Series X? Although the answer to this question is not clear, it is possible. I believe the role of the pandemic that hit the world and affected video game development is significant. It was March 2020 when we first saw the feature.

After the success of the Super Duper Graphics Pack, Mojang wants this product. It will, I believe. Is it this year? It’s not my opinion. Maybe next year. Maybe. We will only know when. We can only wait to see what the future holds. The Caves & Cliffs update has been relegated to the back burner. Maybe we will finally get some love for next-gen console editions.

Are you optimistic that Minecraft Xbox Series X will ever be available for ray tracing? Please let me know your thoughts down below. We have waited for this product for a while.
