Amazon’s The Lord Of The Rings Series gets an epic first trailer and official title
Amazon has released the first teaser trailer of its upcoming The Lord Of The Rings series. It also included an official title and a confirmation of its 2022 release.
The Lord Of The Rings – The Ring Of Power will be available on Amazon Prime starting September 2, 2018. Below is our first glimpse of the fantasy series.
Although the trailer does not reveal too much, it reminds viewers that the new series is set long before the films and books we are used to. The Ring Of Power will follow the adventures and the creation of the fearsome Ring Of Power, instead of Frodo or The Fellowship.
The official synopsis states that Amazon Studios’ upcoming series will bring to screen for the first time the heroic stories of the Second Age of Middle-earth’s history. This epic drama takes place thousands of years prior to the events of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit as well as The Lord of the Rings will transport viewers to an era when great powers were created, kingdoms rose and fell to ruin and unlikely heroes were tested. They’ll also take them back to an era where hope was hanging by the finest of threads and the greatest villain Tolkien could have written threatened to destroy the world.
The series begins in relative peace and follows a group of characters as they face the long-feared return of evil to Middle-earth. These kingdoms and characters will leave a legacy that lasts long after their departures, from the misty mountains to the magnificent forests of Lindon’s elf-capital, to Numenor’s island kingdom, to the farthest reaches on the map.
