The Cyber Showdown Event: Halo Players Lament a Dearth of Team Play
The Cyber Showdown fan favorite is now available in Halo Infinite. It may be the most popular event in the game. Many fans dislike the event’s challenges and lack of team spirit. Players who attempted to complete these challenges would lose the match.
Recent Reddit posting (via @JetpackWalrus_), highlighted the selfishness of players who are facing current challenges in Halo Infinite’s Cyber Showdown event. One example is the challenge where players must revive their downed teammates. To complete the challenge quickly, most players bait their teammates.
Halo Infinite: Players Reflect on Selfish Cyber Showdown Challenges
The Cyber Showdown event also has other challenges that require players to rely on certain weapons. Players will need to defeat opponents using Melee weapons and Assault Rifles.
Although it is not ideal to use an Assault Rifle for every situation, it is perhaps the easiest challenge in the Cyber Challenge event. The Sidekick Pistol is not a good choice for eliminating enemies. Most opponents will go in for the melee kill close to you, and the pistol is very weak at mid- to long range.
One person asserts that the challenges force players into selfishness ( Balrog229).
Some players believe that completion of challenges is dependent on the specific circumstances ( KiingBooty21).
Most people agree that these challenges are meant to encourage players to place rewards above team play. Some suggested that teammates shouldn’t be able to revive one another by baiting them.
It is becoming increasingly difficult for players to complete the Cyber Showdown challenges in Halo Infinite. However, that doesn’t mean that rewards don’t work. There are many ways events can be improved, including making Halo Infinite events more similar to Overwatch.
