Skull & Bones is being developed as a “Multiplayer First” game
Skull & Bones is one of Ubisoft’s most delayed projects. It was first announced in 2017. Since then, the game has been going through development hell. Now, it appears that the game has undergone a major overhaul to become a “multiplayer-first”.
According to VGC’s earnings call, Ubisoft claimed that Skull & Bones would launch in the “next fiscal years.” However, Frederick Duguet, the CFO, stated that the IP was “very promising,” but acknowledged the long development process. He confirmed that Ubisoft is happy with the artistic direction and its progress thus far.
