Ace Combat: Assault Horizon, a Simulation, Action video game. Close-Range Assault (CRA) is the major gameplay innovation.
It aims to bring action and intensity closer to players while removing the “shooting dots far away” feeling that’s common in in-flight games.
It is called “Dogfight Mode”, for air-to-air battles, and “Air Strike Mode”, for air-to-ground targets. It is not an optional feature, since certain ground and air targets can’t be destroyed without it.
The player must tap LB+RB or L2+R2 (PS3) when the target plane is close enough. ASM can be initiated by pressing specific buttons on the map. The game allows players to fly other types of aircraft and perform other functions in combat aviation.
This includes the B-1, B-2, and AH64 Apache helicopters and UH-60 Black Hawk. Some missions will require players to take on the role of Black Hawk gunners, weapons officers, or AC-130 Spectre guns. D
