Toughest will see major changes in Eternity’s End. This includes the Jailer’s Gauntlet. A new boss rush mode will be introduced more like the Twisting Corridors challenge modes. It will feature a series of boss fights against players, but with no traps or trash. The focus will be on the core gameplay of a boss rush mode.

There are eight layers, each with eight floors. Each floor consists of an entrance leading to the boss room. This boss room is comprised of old Torghast boss rooms.

Players will have to make their way up the tower, starting at level 1, which has an item level recommendation of 170 and ending at floor eight, which has an item level recommendation of 280. This item can only be obtained in Eternity’s End.

The Box of Many Things does not affect the Jailer’s Gauntlet. However, anima orbs work differently. Three orbs are spawned at the beginning of each run, and defeated enemies can drop more during the encounter.

Each fight begins with one boss. Portals can be seen throughout the room that periodically spawns more bosses and enemies as the encounter progresses. Before players can proceed to the next floor, they must defeat all of these enemies.

When players clean a floor, they are given phantasma or soul remnants. There are typically Brokers on each floor who can sell certain powers.

Floor 4 will have two bosses. Floor 8 may have as many as 3, depending on the encounters with Adamant Vaults.

This mode has no time limit and can be completed in as little as five runs before the player is kicked off and made to start over. Players can also join this mode with up to 5 other players.

Jailer’s Gauntlet can be used to award Soul Ash and Soul Cinders as catchup, but these are not required for upgrading legendaries in Eternity’s End.

The Jailer’s Gauntlet, which draws inspiration from the Mage Tower, looks like a fun and challenging new mode that Torghast can use in patch 9.2.

Eternity’s End, currently under testing on the PTR, is not expected to be available until early 2019. Players can expect it to be released from late January through early February and possibly March.
