Gamers agree that Hogwarts Legacy players expected too much of the game
Overall, the reviews for Hogwarts Legacy were very positive. Metacritic’s scores for the Wizarding World RPG are all in the 80s, with some minor variations depending on the platform.
However, this is not true for all Hogwarts legacy players. Many players were disappointed that Quidditch was not included in the game. Once the game had been released, they expressed their disappointment. Reddit users believe those disappointed by the game had unrealistic expectations.
QuicheLee posted that “I have only been a member of Reddit a couple of days but I’ve noticed that many people are expecting too much out of the game.” The Wizarding World really is a whole world. It’s huge. It’s huge. As I said in a previous blog post, this was Avalanche’s first attempt at creating a Wizarding World RPG. So it wasn’t going to be singing and dancing. J.K. Rowling could not include the entire world in 7 books. How can you expect Avalanche’s Wizarding World RPG to cover everything?
Other gamers agree with this statement: “We are living in a time where all games get compared to Red Dead Redemption II. Some people did expect too much. “My expectations were met and the outcome was even better than I expected,” commented Lord_Detleff1. “I agree. Also, people expected it to be more than it had claimed. Avalanche also was very honest and upfront about the features that would be included and those that wouldn’t. So [I don’t know] how people can still complain about Quidditch or other things like we weren’t aware of its omission in the game,” added Magic_mayhem21.
It seems like there will be a sequel or DLC for Hogwarts Legacy soon. We’ll see how well it meets the high expectations of players.
