Horizon Zero Dawn Developer Teases 16 More Projects in Horizon Universe
Guerrilla Games has 16 new projects in development.
Following the success of Horizon: Forbidden West, as well as its latest DLC Burning Shores, it’s a no-brainer for Guerrilla Games to continue the PlayStation-exclusive franchise.
The developers have confirmed that there will be many more Horizon TV projects in the future.
Jan-Bart van Beek, the studio director of Guerrilla Games, recently discussed the series, and their plans to expand the universe and continue the storyline for the protagonist Aloy. Beek revealed that 16 plans are “clicking” on, spanning multiple media forms, and not only new games, during his Develop: Brighton presentation.
Beek continued: “We will continue it for quite a while… as people are probably aware, we’re working on a multiplayer game.
The studio is facing a new challenge in building out a multi-player experience.
16 projects are a lot for a new series. There have been only three Horizon games so far, Zero Dawn and its sequel Forbidden West. Also, there is a PlayStation VR spin-off titled Call of the Mountain.
There are no new Horizon games planned at this time, however, the recent Burning Shores expansion indicates that Aloy’s story will continue to take some unexpected turns. It’s also rumored that the third Horizon title may be in development.
The Horizon series is going to have a very active few years ahead. Fans will be able to enjoy upcoming live-action television adaptations, either in 2025 or next year.
