Portal Prelude RTX is a free remastering of the Portal unofficial prequel.
Portal is a franchise that has become iconic. You should play Portal if you haven’t done so yet. Valve developed the first-person platform puzzle series. portal was released in 2007, followed by portal 2. Nvidia released the Portal, which was an updated version of RTX. portal: prelude is a popular fan mod outside of the official lineup. It’s been so well-received that many people think it belongs to the series. The prequel, set before the time GLaDOS was created, boasts a campaign that lasts 8-10 hours and includes 19 test rooms. It also has a voiced narrative. portal: prelude is now available for free, thanks to a partnership with Nvidia.
Nvidia’s press release teased the fact that “full ray tracing” and “DLSS 3 with RTX IO Technology will breathe life into this game.” The original Portal: Prelude, created by Nicolas ‘NykO18’ and David ‘Kralich’ Driver Gomm, has been reworked using the Nvidia RTX Remix. Each level now features path-traced illumination, and there have been a variety of improvements to the gameplay.
Valerios Tsoumpas, alias “Fearell_Val”, assisted in the development of this project. New voice actors Jack McDade (Amicus) and Colin Zachariasen (SordidSpectacle) also contributed to it. Nvidia has described it as “the definitive” way to enjoy the mod.
You can download the mod for free if you own a PC. The portal must be installed first, and then the Mod to add the prequel is available for free via Steam. Happy puzzling.
