No Man’s Sky gets a huge anniversary update
If ever there was a video game that was a perfect example of the Phoenix rising from the ashes it’s No Man’s Sky by Hello Games.
No Man’s Sky was the subject of a great deal of buzz after its 2013 reveal. No Man’s Sky launched in August 2016 and it was a disaster. The game was a mess. It had missing features, unfulfilled promises, and an artificially generated world that lacked soul.
No Man’s Sky has changed dramatically over the past seven years. No Man’s Sky has not only delivered on the promises made by Hello Games all these years ago but also exceeded many expectations. It’s not that the game was a failure or made false promises, but it is at least commendable how hard its developers tried to make good on their promise. The developers managed to change the negative Steam reviews in the game into ‘Mostly positive’.
Hello, Games has released a huge update to celebrate its seventh anniversary. It is packed with new features and content. We don’t yet know what the Echoes update will include, but we’re promised more details next week.
In the video celebrating Hello Games’ seventh anniversary, Hello Games founder Sean Murray said: “I have been working on this for almost a third of my life and it has been more successful than we could ever dream or plan.” It hasn’t been easy but our players and community have been our main guiding stars.
Murray teases, “There’s still a lot of things we want to do and so many exciting new developments are coming up”. “Our journey will continue,” he says. We are so grateful for all of your support.
No Man’s Sky for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch is now available.
